Finally, last night I had time to revisit the '23 things' project. I somehow got stuck on 'mashups' about three weeks ago. I enjoyed browsing the mash ups even though so many were part of 'flickr'. My favorites were flictionary, flauntr, and flickr fonts. Flictionary has you guessing compound words. Pictures that have been tagged with the same words as the parts of a compound word flash on the screen. After watching the pictures come and go you get a sense of what the compoind word is and type it on a line. You get nothing for this except the satisfaction of solving the puzzle. Flauntr is a phot editing program that allows you to easily add special effects to photos. It is very similar to the phot editing that is on my cell phone. Flickr fonts I couldn't actually get to work. It sounded like you could use photos that look like letters as a type font. I will revisit this a later time.
I visitied and signed up for 'spot crime'. This is a mashup that is not apart of flickr. It's suppose to keep track of crime in your neighborhood. I also found 'Housing maps' to be an interesting mash up. It combines Google maps with Craigslist to help search for a house to buy or rent.

When you say "flickr fonts" do you mean "Spell with Flickr" (http://metaatem.net/words/)?
